When it`s time to prepare a quick healthy meal or side dish, I always use my microwave vegetable steamer. I can save time and eat healthy when preparing vegetables, fresh fish or rice this way because it`s fast, easy and tastes great.

The amazing way that the Tupperware smart steamer works is that the microwaves are actually blocked and do not cook the food directly.
What happens is that the water boils and not the food.

The microwaves heat the water to a boil and the steam from the boiling water is what cooks the food to perfection.

Using a microwave vegetable steamer is quite simple and straight forward. Prepare your vegetables as you normally would by cutting them, dicing them or cut into julienne pieces. Rinse your vegetables in a colander and then place them in the middle tray of your steamer.

Do not dry them before putting them into the tray as this will help with the steaming process. Place water in the lower tray and place the lid on the steamer. If equipped open the vent on the lid of your microwave vegetable steamer.

I find that steaming your vegetables in the microwave at 3 minute intervals works best. Once done remove your steamer from the microwave and let sit for 3 to 5 minutes before you remove the lid.

To see if your veggies are done, press a fork into them and check to see how tender they are. If need be you can place them back into the microwave for another 3 minutes.

At this point you can remove your steamer from the microwave and place it on a heat resistant surface. Leave the lid vent open to let the steam out, then serve. Pretty simple really, Enjoy!
