“Work smart, not hard” is a common maxim that is especially appropriate for cleaning which is why many people are turning to the iRobot Roomba 770. Most people don’t enjoy daily chores and are happy to take advantage of any tool that saves time in this area. One of the biggest innovations in the cleaning world has been the iRobot Roomba.

The latest model by this company, iRobot Roomba 770, is a huge improvement on some of the earliest models. I was attracted by this cleaning robot due to its remote control function. Although this is not the unique function that makes it outstanding among others, it definitely boosts convenience features for users. What most consumers want to know before purchasing this vacuum is the features and how well this model stacks up against a traditional vacuum.

Well, if you are one of them, watch the interesting demo video below to figure out if it suits your cleaning needs.

Specification and Warranty

The Roomba 770 is just under 4 inches tall and weighs 8.4 pounds. It’s slightly larger than other vacuums and along with its larger size, it also tends to be a little louder. However, even with the increased volume, it’s still much quieter than an upright vacuum.

In terms of the warranty, it is backed by a 12-month limited warranty. Although it’s impossible to know how this robot vacuum’s life will last when compared to an upright vacuum, the manufacturers claim that it will be valuable for many years.

iRobot Roomba 770 Review and Highlight Features

Sealed Gearbox

In this model, the gearbox is sealed away to keep it from being clogged with dirt and hair. This was a common problem in earlier models, but one that has been taken care of with this cleaning robot. The brushes, filters, and squeegees are all easily detachable and the vacuum cleaner comes with specialized devices to remove any hair from its brushes.

Larger Bin

One of the most important parts of any canister vacuum is the bin that is used to collect dirt and debris. Although it’s obvious that an upright vacuum has a much larger area, the robot vacuum cleaner has maxed out this bin and has significantly more capacity than any of its other models.

Dirt Detection System

What made this vacuum popular among consumers was the Dirt Detect system which was designed to find dirt without having to be directed. The iRobot Roomba 770 uses a cleaning algorithm that directs this small vacuum and is part of the reason why anyone watching it clean may be wondering about its erratic cleaning path.

The main reason why the vacuum looks so strange is that the algorithm actually works with two main types of dirt sensors that can hear dirt particles when they come into contact with the machine. These, along with optical sensors, do a superior job of detecting what areas of the floor need to be cleaned.

3-Stage Cleaning System

One of the biggest changes and most popular features on the iRobot Roomba 770 is that it now cleans much more like a human vacuuming. When this cleaning robot finds a particularly dirty spot on the floor, it vacuums more aggressively, moving in a back and forth motion until the dirt is gone. This is called “persistent path” cleaning, although it doesn’t really need a name.

This robot vacuum cleaner has 3-stage cleaning which uses a spinning side brush for edges of rooms, a counter-rotating brush that acts like a broom, and an AeroVac Series 2 vacuum to suck up dirt and hair.

Dual HEPA filters And Improved Battery

This robot vacuum cleaner with its Dual HEPA filters and improved battery life is powerful enough to clean rooms and houses of almost any size although it cannot manage steps or clean them at all. It comes with a charging station that keeps the battery charged between uses. The iRobot Roomba 770 has an improved battery, and the life is two years or greater. It is replaceable as well, and replacement batteries cost between $50-70.

Easy Set-Up

As mentioned earlier, this cleaning robot does come with a remote that can be used to start the initial cleaning or guide it to a particular spot of floor to clean. However, it’s just as simple to use the controls on the device itself. The center has a distinctive “clean” button and there are just a few buttons used to control the blue screen interface. Owners can choose their own cleaning schedule as needed.

Pre-Schedule Setting

I don’t know about you, but on-board scheduling is one of the important buying criteria for my friend. She plans to let the vacuum robot to conduct cleaning task while she is away from work. So, she could enjoy a clean environment when she reaches home.

Needless to say, this robot vacuum cleaner that can be scheduled up to 7 cleaning sessions per week is fulfilled her needs. It is not necessary to ask it to work every day. In case you are away for vacation, you may pre-set the schedule to clean 3 days per week.

Pros & Cons

Pros:
When talking about plus points, we definitely have to mention the DirtDetect System and Dual Hepa filter again as these are highlight features that make this robot vacuum cleaner able to detect the dirtiest on every inch of the cleaning area and trap dust, allergens, and tiny particulates such as pet hair.

Furthermore, it is self-adjusts between floor types so and smart enough to keep away from off-limit areas. This kind of Virtual Walls function is great to block certain areas such as the roaring fireplace.

Cons:
This cleaning robot does not resume cleaning at the previous position after recharging. This weak point is compromised with its multi-room cleaning capabilities and takes about 1 hour to vacuum approximately 800 square feet. Please visit us on Google for more about iRobot Roomba 770 Review.
