Ok, let’s get the obvious out of the way, the price of any piece of expensive kitchen equipment is always going to be one of the deciding factors for many people.

The Health Master Elite Price is usually somewhere around the $175 mark while the Vitamix 5200 price is around three times that of the Elite. The Montel Williams blender wins hands down if you are looking for the cheapest blender of the two.

Which One Has Professional Blender Reliability?

After winning on price, the Health Master Elite looks (quite literally) a little shaky in this department. Users have complained of the unit overheating on jobs which are more intensive, and that’s early on in the products life. Smells of electrical burning and even smoke coming out of the machine have been reported.

The Vitamix 5200 has had no such complaints however. Although it may of course start to heat up too much during use, it is self cooling and has an auto safety cut off which prevents any such occurrence damaging the unit.

It’s beginning to become clear why the price difference is so big! While the Health Master Elite may be fine for lighter work it may cause you problems if you are looking for a real kitchen workhorse. Vitamix which is well known for lasting years with no problems wins hands down for reliability.
