DIY Lavender Eucalyptus Bath Salts For Gift Giving
The thought of going to a crowded mall to do my Christmas shopping terrifies me. Besides that, I find it hard to shop for presents when there are so many decisions to make.
Last year, I decided to make some of my Christmas presents for my daughters and was very happy when they were received with much enthusiasm. These were presents that I made from scratch and poured my heart and all my love into.
Now I am hooked to make some more homemade presents for the upcoming Christmas season.
Of course, I am still an amateur but I did make Lavender Eucalyptus Bath Salts, Candy Cane Hot Chocolate with Dusted Marshmallows, Citrus Black Tea, Herbed Infused Olive Oil, Poultry Seasoning and others.
I loved making them all. My daughters loved the bath salts. It literally takes an hour from the time you start to the time you package and wrap the gift.
Following is my recipe that I used to create my gift. You can find the salts and oils at local stores in your community or shop online. The supplies are economical to purchase and the ending result is priceless.
2 cups Epsom Salts
2 Tbsp Dried Lavender Buds (optional)
Lavender Food Coloring that you mix by blending equal amounts of red and blue food coloring together.
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, mix thoroughly.
Find a pretty decorative jar and ribbon (most available at dollar stores), add a homemade gift tag and voila…you have your first beautiful, thoughtful gift that the recipient can enjoy.
To use the bath salts: Fill bathtub with very warm water, add the desired amount of bath salts to bathtub and soak for about 20 to 30 minutes.
If you haven’t used Epsom salts before, make sure to use caution. Take a couple of deep breaths first before getting into your tub as Epsom salts can make you feel lightheaded if you’ve never used them before.
You can make a lot of different bath salts and customize them for gift giving.
It is a very cheap gift to make but a luxurious gift to enjoy.
