Nintendo Wii U with HD Graphics

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has said that the new Wii U “redefines the structure of home entertainment by fundamentally changing how the TV, game console and the Internet function and interact together.” To give you an idea of how amazing the Wii U is, it is able to combine motion-sensing game play and it also has the ability to support full HD graphics. The Wii U console will be paired with a new controller and it can use up to four more Wii Remote or Wii Remote Plus controllers.

It has been designed to be backward compatible with the original Wii model as well as its accessories including the Wii Fit, Nunchuks and Wii controllers. This is a great feature as this means that you will be able to still use your Wii games (with the exception of GameCube) and accessories with the Wii U. Its internet connectivity has also been enhanced. The Wii U not features video chat, web browsing and it can also show photos and videos on the television.

Nintendo Wii U Release Date

If you are excited to get your hands on the new Nintendo Wii U, you will have to wait until April 2012 as that is their target release date. Nintendo did not say how much the game console will cost but judging by the Nintendo President’s statement that they don’t think they can charge the same price for the Wii U as they do for the Wii, it would be a good idea to expect that it will be more expensive than its previous model which was released with a price tag of $250.

“The experience enabled by Wii U and the new controller takes players deeper into their games, while reaching out wider than ever before to be inviting to all kinds of gamers,” Nintendo President Iwata also added. If you are to believe in his statement, you can definitely expect a gaming experience unlike any other with the new Nintendo Wii U. The Wii console has already sold more than 86 million units across the globe and when they release the new Wii U, they are expecting to make their brand bigger and better.
