When I was growing up in Minnesota, we drank pristine well water. Sure, we had it tested every so often to make sure that no pathogens entered the system. Drinking water from a plastic dispenser was never an option. In fact, I never heard of bottled water growing up.

Today, things are much different. Many folks have bottle water delivered to their home because they are concerned about impurities and toxins in the water. I wonder how many of these people are concerned about the plastic that there water is delivered in? If you are one of those concerned about drinking out of plastic water dispenser, then maybe you may want to consider a large 5 or 6 gallon stainless steel water dispenser.

We used 2 different stainless steel water dispenser at home.  Our primary stainless steel water dispenser is the Big Berkey gravity fed water filtration system.  The Big Berkey delivers purified/filtered water without the use of  electricity.  I bought this unit after I grew tired of lugging our 6 gallon stainless steel water jug to the water store every week.
 
Even if you are not looking at buying a water filtration system, Berkey water filters are water dispensers with built in filters.  When fully loaded with filters, you can easily filter 4000 or more gallons of water.  I paid almost the same amount for my Berkey system as I did for the Dinuba 25 liter water dispenser.  It’s like getting a water filter for free.
 
The Big Berkey  is great if you are stationary.  The 25 liter M5 are great if you are moving around.
