If you wait too long, you’ll be more inclined to use drastic methods of pest control. Having mice in your home is one thing, but being a killer is another.
Don’t throw your morals out the window in favor of quick removal. There are several options to humanly remove mice from your house.
Below are a few to get you started.
Cleanliness Keeps Mice Away
Keeping your Home Clean! The cleaner your home is, the more undesirable it is for mice.
Make sure you have no food lying around in the open. Mice are attracted to areas that they view as potential sources of food.
Always store your food in airtight containers, and place in the fridge.
Also make sure you keep your garbage cans as far away as possible from your house, and sealed with the lid on top.
Other ways to prevent mice from being attracted to your home include sealing any potential entry ways with steel wool since mice cannot chew through it.

Spread these cotton balls around the areas of your home where mice are most active.
Note… While this method may not remove current mice from your home, it prevents any new mice from coming in.
You can also spread these natural oils and deterrents around your house on the floors and corners of the wall. It has been known to put mouse in a bit of a daze, giving you the perfect opportunity to catch them.
Humane Traps Get Rid Of Mice And Save Your Consience
Use a humane trap! Believe it or not, there are humane traps for mice that trap the mouse in a box.
The mouse is able to get in, but cannot get back out again.
In this trap, you simply place some food in the box, they smell the food, go in the box, and that’s where it ends.
Then you bring the mouse outdoors to an area at least a mile or so away from your home.

Get A Cat… Get Rid Of Mice
Last but not least you can get a cat to share your life and help keep the mice under control.
When getting a cat, you will need to choose one that knows how to hunt.
These are cats that have spent quite a bit of time outside, or can be female, as female cats are known to have better hunting instincts.
Visit your city’s animal shelter or humane society to adopt a kitty. If you are able, you can even borrow a friend’s cat.
Note this option is best if mice invasion is a problem that you experience regularly on a monthly or yearly basis.
And the best thing about having a cat or two, other than the joy of being owned by a kitty, is they scare more mice away than they catch. So though the image here shows how effective they are at finding the ones that are brave.
Most mice are smart enough not to make their home in a place where a cat lives!
