WHY I BUY USED CAMERAS

WHY I BUY USED CAMERAS

WHY I BUY USED CAMERAS.
Because I like cameras toooooo much.
An old retired man who has to be careful
with his money can’t have the newest
and latest all the time.

If you are a professional photographer,
this page would offend you. So, pass
it up.

If you have a camera somewhere
gathering dust you will not be interested
in this page

If you can be  conent with just one
camera, you probably will not be
interested in this page.

If you like gadgets (like cameras) keep on reading.

Why do you have a camera anyway????????

If you are like most of us, it is to keep memories.  Or
to share with our friends on the internet.  So, do you
really need all those hyped up megapixels???

I am not smart enough to know about megapixels and
picture sizes.  But the people who know claim the following
megapixel chart will show how many  megapixels you
need for a given photo size.

1 MP 5″ x 7″

2 MP 8″ x 10″

3 MP 8″ x 10″

4 MP 11″ x 14″

5 MP 11: x 14″

6-7 MP 16: x 20″

8 MP 17″ x 22″

10 MP 20″ x 30″

HOW BIG A PRINT DO YOU WANT???

So for most of us we can get by with a lot less
megapixels – unless we need lots of bells and
whistles.

Currently I have about ten cameras for one reason
or another.  A couple of those shown below I no
longer have.  But they were fun and interesting.

MY CHEAPEST CAMERA

I find it real hard to pass up a really
cheap working camera.  This camera
was listed on eBay for $1.00 buy it
now.  So I did.

The seller pointed out that it had a
broken battery door, but it still worked.
And in addition the shipping was only
$2.41.

Before I even tried it, I repaired the
battery door with J B weld.  Then
sprayed some off color paint on it.

The little old camera works real well.
It is 8 MP.  And for a point and shoot
camera does a good job.

Oh! I’m still looking for a cheaper
working digital camera.

But I do not mind having $3.41 invested
in a back up camera.  Or just to have a
bargin to brag about.

This photo of the old tractor was taken
with my “cheapest camera” above.

Every thing in the image has a shine to
it because is was raining lightly when
taken.  But I like the shine.  And of
course that was the day to try the camera
out – rain or shine.

CAMERA I HAVE THE MOST FUN WITH

This camera is a Casio EX-20.  I bought
it on eBay for $10.00.  And yes, it could
hid behind a credit card.

It is only 2 MP and does not zoom.  But
it has most all other functions that a
point and shoot camera has.

It can slide into my shirt pocket so
easy I hardly know it is there.  So
when I do not want the bulk of even
a normal point and shoot camera this
little guy goes into a pocket.  LOVE IT.

PHOTO TAKEN WITH CREDIT CARD SIZE CAMERA

Yep!  Her picture was taken with that
little Casio camera.

The girl is one of my great granddaughters.
The camera was worth the money just
to get that picture.

WHEN CHEAP WAS BETTER THAN NEW

This camera is a Nikon Coolpix 2500.
It too is only 2 MP.  [I am not trying
to push 2 MP.]

As you have already figured, I bought
it off eBay for — $6.50 plus shipping.
It came with battery, charger, memory
card and every thing.

I just wanted to try the little bugger out.
And in the case below, it out did a brand
new 16 MP camera.

I confess.  I bought one brand new
camera last June.  The only brand new
camera I have bought since being a
preteen.

And yes, I regret the purchase.  But it
is brand new so I have to keep it.

TWO MEGAPIXEL OUT DOING SIXTEEN MEGAPIXEL

I wanted a close up (Macro) image for
my blog.  So I got out my brand new
16 MP camera.  Put in the Macro setting.
And took some photos of the briar
I wanted for the blog.

Photos looked great on the camera
screen.  But in on the computer it was
another story.

So I went back into my office, got the
little $6.50 Nikon above and got the
shots I wanted.
I know this photo is very small and
hard to see.  But if you look real close
you can even see the “hair” on that
briar branch.  The new 16 MP camera
would not do that.

YES, I HAVE BETTER CAMERAS TOO

Yes.  I do have some better cameras.
In fact (Other than these two favorites
pictured here.)  All of my other cameras
are better than the cameras above.
I need one (some) with manual focus.
And other manual settings too.

But what did I use when taking this
image???

You guessed it.  I grabbed that little Casio
because all three cameras happened to
be close together.  And, being as lazy as
other people did not want to go get a
tripod.

Consider this fact.  I have as much fun
with my “cheaper” used cameras as you
do with your fancy dodad from famous
name.

Consider getting yourself an extra
CHEAP camera to play with along
with your really nice expensive one.
