It is often said that your home is your castle.  If this is to be true, wouldn’t it make sense that from time to time you would give your castle a face lift?  It doesn’t have to be to complicated, but it is something good, and something that can change the way others view  your home, and in turn. you!  That’s right, what your home looks like is often how people will view you.  As a result, I’d like to give you some food for thought, and perhaps you can do some simple things to change the way you and your home are viewed.  

 

So what is the simple thing that I’m encouraging you to do?  Change the windows.  It’s not hard, but it is something that adds character and dimension to your home.  It’s something that can change a dark drab room into one that is sparkling and special.  A home and room that attracts people to it is something that is greatly appreciated by those that live there, and those that drive by.  So, for your consider ration are two basic windows, that can add life to your home.

Bay windows are one of my favorite windows.  The reason is the added design and character that they give to a home.  There’s so much that can be added to them.  For example, you may have the window made into a seat.  One of the homes I lived in had this.  We found it so amusing that the window didn’t look that big from the outside, but when you got inside, it was huge.  The frame was all wood and added so much character to the kitchen it was located in.  It also adds character to any room where it’s placed.  I had a friend that had a bay window, and then added a storage facility to the bench that was put in below it.

 

Consider that if you have children, a bay window can not only add light and character to their room, but it can also add additional storage to it.  If you’ve ever had children, you are more than aware of the fact that there isn’t enough storage room for all of their toys and clothes, it’s a never ending battle.   Consider bay windows as a viable option for both of those situations. 

Along the same lines as bay windows you’ll find garden windows.  You know what these are, those little windows that stick out just above the kitchen sink.  They allow for you to have sunlight and color, and they allow for you to put plants, for that extra breath of life during the long winter months.  The cool thing about these windows is the fact that everyone that goes by your home can see them and have their day brightened as well. 

 

In most cases garden windows are quick and easy to put in, at least that’s the case for the professionals.  This windows are wonderful for small children to feel as though they are a part of not only gardening, but decorating and having fun in running the house.  These little windows will brighten everyone’s day that sees them.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen them and smiled at what I saw inside of them.
