The Heart Of The Holidays
The heart of the holidays is love, there’s no question about that. But how everyone sees that love and expresses it, may vary from person to person. Holidays are supposed to be the best time of the year. We celebrate, boy do we celebrate. We start gearing the parties up in September! Yes, September is when the Halloween supplies are out. Yes, they’re out right now if you’d like to go run and get some.
If you’re not a last minute person, you know this already. If you’re a crafty person, you may have already begun to get things in line. If you are a serious ‘crafter’, you probably started several months ago. I work in a business where I see people in June and July asking for supplies for the holidays. These people understand one thing clearly: If your crafting, it takes time. It’s not something that you’re able to start the night before and get done. You must plan ahead and be diligent!
Why Start Now?
If you are a crafty person, you understand why you need to start right now. If you’re not, let me give you some examples as to why you need to start now. To do crafts properly and well takes time. They aren’t something that can be started the night before. You’re may be thinking something like, “but I know someone that make clothes the night before.” and you very well are correct. Making clothes can be a lot quicker than those that are making crafts.
Making crafts is something that takes time. It’s something that you need to be very deliberate in. Consider needlepoint. The needlepoint you see here is 10 X 14.3 and takes time to do. Every block on the fabric is a stitch and that’s something that can’t be rushed. It’s something that needs time to get the floss organized. It takes time to get the colors just right. And it takes time to get the project done. The more complicated, the more time it takes. Needlepoint isn’t something that can be rushed.
It’s All About The Heart!
We’ve all heard it said that, when you do what you love, you’ll never work another day in your life. That statement is so true, even for those that are doing crafts for others. Those that love doing crafts never get enough of them done. They have a passion for it and starting in September, is probably consider to be late to them. These are the ones that spend all of their time looking for new supplies, colors and projects to start.
If on the other hand, you think this is all crazy and why would anyone do that, let alone in September. If you’re making things to tell people what to do and how to use those projects. Well you are probably doing things with the wrong motive and that’s not good for anyone.
So, now the ball is in your court. Are you starting your projects now, or are you turning the page?
