Life is Much More Than It Seems

Each of us is more than a physical body with a mind, personality, and emotions; we are Soul. Soul is who we are. The physical body, mind, personality, and emotions are tools we use to have a particular experience this lifetime. Some may say they have a Soul, but Soul is the one doing the having. Soul has amazing abilities. Many people haven’t a clue what those abilities might be or why they might want them at all. We can receive help and guidance in discovering what those abilities are and how to use them well. We can use them to achieve spiritual freedom. You think you know what spiritual freedom is? Spiritual freedom is beyond the thinking process, far beyond the mind and the mind’s abilities. Only Soul can experience spiritual freedom. Then there’s God. So many people think they know God. They say God is infinite, unlimited in any way, all powerful, all wise, all knowing. Yet, they spend their time telling God what to do, checking up on him to see if he’s doing things right. That seems kind of silly, doesn’t it? How can minds like this ever know a God like that. Soul can. Soul is part of the expression of God referred to as Spirit. In other words, we express ourselves by the things we say, how we say them, what we do, how we do. God expresses ITself in many, many more ways in Spirit. Spirit, too, is unlimited. So, the way God expresses ITself is unlimited. The mind has trouble understanding anything without limits or boundaries. So, that’s why there is so much controversy about what God is. Each person’s mind can only perceive a small portion of God. Each person’s mind looks at God a little bit differently. So, one person may see a portion of God that another may never see. Unlike the mind, Soul is unlimited. Soul can experience God. But first it must develop its Soul abilities through special exercises, called spiritual exercises. They do for Soul what physical exercise does for the physical body, what mental exercises do for the mind. That’s what this is about. It’s about you discovering yourself as Soul and finding the help and means to develop the Soul abilities you need to experience spiritual freedom and God. Then what? You will discover that, too.

Discover What Spiritual Freedom Means to You

When I look at physical freedoms, in the countries where people have had to strive and earn their freedoms, the people have a better sense and appreciation of those freedoms. They understand that with freedom comes responsibility. In those countries where people have had an outside force, like another country, put them into a position of having physical freedoms, they can’t handle those freedoms and sometimes they lose them entirely. Spiritual freedom, for me, is like that. It takes the effort of doing spiritual exercises, of taking responsibility for my own advancement into spiritual freedom and maintaining that spiritual freedom. It has to be earned to even recognize it, to want it, to appreciate it, and to live it.

A Tour Guide on a Spiritual Journey

When you’re going someplace new, it’s so much better if you have some kind of guidance so you can discover what can make that place so special for you. How would you feel if after you returned home, someone told you about something you missed and you would have really enjoyed experiencing that? It’s also good to have guidance on what to avoid, those things that might make your experience unpleasant and maybe even dangerous. For instance, who wouldn’t want an experienced, knowledgeable, and dependable guide while traveling on the Amazon River? Or on a journey to Victoria Falls?

If you’re going on a Spiritual Journey, it probably won’t be long before you begin experiencing things that are very new and unusual for you. Wouldn’t it be nice to have an experienced, knowledgeable, and dependable guide on your spiritual journey, advising you and giving you tips?
